Mandatory contributions related to your stay
According to current regulations, certain fees will be charged. These are not reimbursed by the French Health Insurance but may be covered by your private insurance or complementary health coverage. Please check with your provider. Exemptions may apply, particularly for beneficiaries of the Universal Health Coverage or State Medical Aid. The complete list of exemptions is available at ameli.fr.
Daily hospital charge: €20 per day (including the day of discharge)
This charge represents your financial contribution to accommodation and maintenance costs during your hospitalization. It is applicable for each day of hospitalization, including the day of discharge. It does not apply to outpatient stays. The amount is set by ministerial decree.
Fixed contribution: €24 per stay
Preserving the healthcare system is everyone’s responsibility, and you contribute to it through healthcare expenses. This portion, which remains your responsibility, is referred to as a “fixed contribution” or “copayment”.
The fixed contribution of €24 applies to procedures costing €120 or more. For procedures under €120, a copayment may still be required.
No other charges, except those for medical services provided or optional services you specifically requested (such as a private room), can be billed. The cost of these optional services must be communicated to you prior to your care.
